Design and construct second story addition to semi
This one bedroom semi was purchased with intent to add a second story and completely refit existing home to achieve a modern family home for today’s inner West family. The home was narrow and cramped yet its position in the heart of Balmain made it desirable. The end result utilised every square meter and each space was drenched with natural sunlight.
Challenge
By being a typical small semi property in Balmain, the challenge was to get the most out of the small space . The narrow access required detailed planning to ensure that neighbouring properties were not disrupted with deliveries.
Approach
Baker Developments surround themselves with the right team of consultants during the design phase to ensure that the best product possible would be reached and council consent would be easily reached. This project provided Baker Developments unique knowledge on how to navigate the design and construct process with inner west councils and how best to achieve the greatest outcome from the DA process
Outcome
The completed project resulted in a beautiful custom family home in the heart of Balmain. The property was so desired that its value doubled after the renovation was complete.
